The Pefect No Pilot Commerical Range Solution for Your Church, Firehouse or Commercial Kitchen
The perfect commercial range for a church or firehouse would be one with no pilot. When it comes to purchasing a commercial oven or range for a church kitchen or firehouse, we hear a lot of customers express concern regarding an open or standing pilot.
Most commercial ranges have a standing pilot that always burns so you can turn your gas burners or oven on and off at ease. In a restaurant environment this is fine, because you are always running your cooking equipment. But what if you have a space that doesn't run your cooking equipment all the time, like a church or firehouse?
American Range USA has invented a new technology for use with commercial cooking equipment that they call green flame technology. With this new technology, you have no pilot flames putting out heat and emissions in your building. Think of a residential gas cook top that has an electronic ignition built in when you turn on your burners. American Range has captured the convenience of this feature and now makes it available across their entire line of cooking equipment. For an additional charge, you can order your equipment from the factory with this electronic ignition system installed so don't have to leave a pilot light on all of the time. This also means you don't have to light your pilots when you want to use your burners, oven, or grills. This not a residential quality product, this is a heavy duty electronic ignition made for the commercial space. Watch this short video demo if green flame technology in action.

Not only does this make operating the equipment easier, but in a restaurant environment where you are constantly burning a pilot light, it can equate to substantial savings on natural gas costs over a year, in the hundreds of dollars.
Here in Tri-Cities, WA we get several questions from church members about pilot lights and the faint smell of gas they put out in the room as a result of burning natural gas. A seasoned cook in a restaurant would know it's perfectly normal, but for most of us who don't cook every day as profession can find commercial equipment with pilot lights a little intimidating and complicated to manage. This cooking technology from American Range eliminates that worry and replaces it with a superior ignition system that is completely electronic.
We are a preferred vendor for American Range in the Tri-Cities and we would love to answer any questions about this new technology for commercial cooking equipment, and get you a competitive price on equipment you need for your kitchen.

hello, is this “green flame technology” something i can ADD to my old commercial oven and eliminate the oven pilot light?
Hi Joe,
Great question! The answer unfortunately is no, American Range doesn’t offer a retrofit ability to add green flame to an older range. They are shipped from the factory set with this green flame. Other brands offer this function as well, including Southbend, and Vulcan.
